She, her, hers
Heidi Stone, Esq., serves as In-House Counsel at Succession Resource Group. In this role, she oversees contract drafting and compliance review across SRG’s engagements, advises client-facing teams on entity and equity structuring, and manages the firm’s contractual and legal risk.
Heidi’s in-house legal experience spans financial services and healthcare. Her responsibilities across these industries have included contract drafting and negotiation, regulatory compliance, litigation management, employment matters, corporate governance, legal operations, policy development, and risk management.
Before joining SRG, Heidi served as Corporate Counsel at Emerus Holdings, Inc., where she was a legal advisor to a multistate hospital system. Her responsibilities included contract negotiations, litigation management, subpoena and search warrant responses, regulatory inquiries, complaint resolution, employment matters, billing disputes, risk and quality issues, governance activities, and policy improvements.
Earlier in her career, Heidi served as Associate Counsel and Vice President at Woodforest National Bank, N.A. In this role, she provided enterprise-wide legal support to a multistate financial institution. Her work included contract drafting and negotiation; regulatory compliance involving GLBA, E-Sign, CAN-SPAM, and other requirements; employment matters; litigation management; and legal operations involving discovery requests, bankruptcy matters, powers of attorney, levies, liens, and garnishments. She also supported the marketing and development of the bank’s product and service offerings.
Heidi earned her Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Business, from Sam Houston State University.
Outside of work, Heidi is a reader and audiobook listener and an avid needlepointer who also dabbles in sewing, furniture painting, and the occasional Pinterest fail. Travel is a family passion, with recent trips to Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, Colorado, California, Hawaii, and the Bahamas. Heidi and her family are also devoted Disney fans and Disney Vacation Club members, so they spend a good deal of time at Disney Parks and on Disney cruises.
At home, Heidi enjoys bike rides, movie and game nights, puzzles, and LEGO builds with her husband and two daughters, all kept lively by their three dogs: Izzy, Daizy, also known as Mayhem, and Winston.
Fun Fact: Heidi loves to travel, but she is also a nervous traveler and chronic overpacker. She likes to be prepared for anything, which means packing a first aid kit, sanitizing wipes, Benadryl, enough sunscreen for three families, and the whole house if she can find a way to fit it in the suitcase.
