United Planners Financial Services Announces LEAPS Program to Assist Advisors with Acquisition and Succession Needs
Successor Search Solutions include Coaching, Business Valuation and Succession Blueprint
Scottsdale, Ariz. — May 23, 2013 — United Planners Financial Services (UP), a national RIA and independent broker-dealer partnership with more than 350 advisors nationwide, will announce its new acquisition and succession program at the firm’s National Annual Partners Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, May 31, 2013. The LEAPS Program (Legacy, Exit & Acquisition Planning Solutions) is designed to help UP advisors find a suitable successor and create an intentional succession or acquisition plan. Lending resources are also available.
“Research shows that over 50% of advisors do not have a succession strategy,” said United Planners’ CEO Thomas H. Oliver. “We are committed to ensuring that our advisors have a plan to successfully transition their businesses when the time is right, capturing the value of their life’s work and ensuring a seamless transition for their
clients.”
UP has partnered with David Grau, Jr., head of Portland, Oregon based Succession Resource Group (SRG) to deploy and support the LEAPS program. Combining UP’s internal recruiting and marketing resources with SRG’s specialization in personalized acquisition and succession consulting services for advisors, LEAPS offers a comprehensive solution for advisors to plan and execute a considered, intentional transition strategy.
“With an aging advisor base, broker-dealers and custodians are aware of the need to help advisors with succession and acquisition resources. United Planners is leading the way, helping their advisors identify and connect with the next generation and supporting them in harvesting the value they have built in their practices,” said David Grau, Jr., President of Succession Resource Group.
“With a strategy in place to find and partner with a successor, advisors can avoid attrition near the end of their career, sustain their income, ensure their clients will continue to receive quality service, and gracefully and gradually leave their legacy in the business,” said Oliver. “We have been working on this initiative for some time now and are excited to be rolling it out at our national conference next week.”
