Financial Advocates and Succession Resource Group Partner to Expand Acquisition/Succession Resources for Advisors
(PORTLAND, OR – August 26, 2014) – Succession Resource Group, Inc. (SRG), the leading firm for acquisition and succession solutions and consulting for financial professionals is pleased to announce a new strategic alliance with Financial Advocates (FA), an advisor services firm based in Olympia, Washington.
The newly formed alliance will bring the goals of SRG and Financial Advocates together by helping FA advisors acquire, merge or partner with more external practices. The strategic alliance will also help FA as a firm by retaining more of their existing advisors and assets through SRG’s proactive consulting, valuable resources, timely information, and reduced fee structure. According to Gary Campbell, Founder and CEO at Financial Advocates, “We are committed to helping ensure our advisors have the resources they need to grow their firms and transfer the relationships they’ve built with clients to their successors. We see succession planning as a critical part of both our advisors’ long-term success, as well as for our firm. That is why we have partnered with SRG.”
Founder & CEO David Grau Jr., MBA of SRG said his firm is excited about the alliance with FA and the opportunity to support a company that has such a close working relationship with its advisors around the country. David went on to say, “At the end of the day, the work we do with advisors as succession planning consultants is not about a transaction, it’s about a transition of trust. We are pleased to have Financial Advocates as a partner because they are committed to helping their advisors build better businesses and are committing resources to make sure their advisors are building businesses that will be able to serve multiple generations of clients. This is a key element to being a successful acquirer in today’s marketplace.”
While popular industry topics, acquisition and succession planning have proven challenging issues for advisors and their broker-dealer/custodians. But, with Financial Advocates proactive involvement in their advisor’s businesses coupled with SRG’s resources, both SRG and FA believe the partnership will produce some exciting and measurable success. According to Executives at SRG, succession planning has been widely misunderstood and equated to selling the business and retiring. However, there has been a gradual trend toward proactive succession planning, and Financial Advocates is committed to being a resource to help the pending industry-wide wave of retiring advisors and the ensuing client/advisor attrition.
